In this article novel and the techniques of Novel have been dealt with. In the tradition of Urdu novel at which domain techniques have been used and under which circumstances western techniques have been used, with all these references. It has been tried to look and search in the way of research. In this article narrative, flash back, epistolary, symbolism, stream of consciousness, abstracts and the technique of surrealism, which have been used in different novels, have been elaborated in Urdu commonly. There has been less inclination to write criticism, keeping in view these techniques. This article has specifically been written to fulfill the above mention weaknesses, and provide a guide line for future research in the tradition of Urdu novel.
