Abstract

An imaginary journey of soul as accentuation to the world of Utopia or the world here after, this is a sort of visionary journey shared by the humanity at large right from ancient ages. It had been the heritage of various nations according to their regions perception and beliefs. The event of Escentuation "معراج" of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is considered to be the Role Model / Precedent by the Muslim Sufi Scholars. Since this religious experience is of highly significance, thereby the Sufi Scholars holding the theory of pantheism are inclined to interpret this spiritual journey towards the ultimate destination of annihilation and union with Almighty Allah like a drop of water that annihilates itself in the occasion and becomes one with the whole. Iqbal disregard to the popular view of the Sufi Scholars, opines that the accentuation is not total diminishing but rahterely it is a path leading to everlasting life. Iqbal expressed with view in his book "جاوید نامہ" i.e "رسالۃ الخلود" In this regard al-Muarri (1057) is one of the scholars who in his "رسالۃ الغفران" discussed the same topic in length. This article deals with the critical study of the both authors with reference to their books, pointing out the various commonalities and the thoughts resulted therein.
