Abstract

Ahmad Faraz is the most significant emerging poet on the Urdu poetical vista of 2nd half of the 20th century. The simile system of his poetry has its own identity. There is found a new and novel world of similes in fraz's poetry. These similes provide the reader or the listener with aesthetic sense. His similes are rich with apparent and literal qualities. These similes include human emotions and feelings in an artistic manner. Faraz brings rare similes on the basis of his observation. In this article, ten different kinds of similes are discussed that are found frequently in his poetry.
