Abstract
Marxist criticism presents the analysis of literature from the angle of class relations and social conflicts. Most of the times the interpretation made in the light of Marxist theory is materialistic and addresses the historical development of human struggle. Therefore, Marxist Urdu critics and creative writers have focused on the relationship of life and literature. They are of the opinion that literature is all about the representation of life from every aspect. Progressive Writers Movement (PWA) of Urdu was based upon Marxist theory.
