Arsh Siddiqui is a trend setter and representative poet of Multan. He had a multi dimensional personality. Although he was a modern poet yet he had not broken his link with the glorious tradition of classical Urdu literature. His work is innovative in criticism, fiction writing, modern poem and couplet (Doha) writing. His couplets are considered valuable not only in literary horizon of Multan but also in the Urdu literature as a whole. His couplets are a blend of tradition and innovation. Indeed his work of couplet writing in Urdu is important in giving new dimensions to couplets writers in Urdu. There is a glimpse of projection of his personality as a critic, fiction writer, and modern poet in his couplets. He endowed a specific purposefulness to couplet writing.
