Abstract
The political history written in the books is the history and politics of rulers and the governments. The literature, on the other hand, is the history of the masses. It is the narrative of what the politics of the rulers does with the public at large. The poetry is affected by the political maneuvering and demonstrates ups and downs of every era. Munir Niazi's poetry emerged from social and political issues. He represents, through his poetry and aesthetics, the masses that are affected by the circumstances resulting out of political factors. His poetry is political history of the common man of his era through which one sees the history of Pakistan from independence to the early period of 21st century. Even a decade after his death, his words fit squarely into the current circumstances the country and the common man is going through.
