Abstract
The psychological and sociological impacts of colonialism have been effectively highlighted in the writings of Iqbal (both in prose and poetry). Iqbal's thoughts have been explained and illustrated but the fact that Iqbal's thought is a direct reaction against colonialism is continuously neglected. Iqbal knew all about the nature, the skills and psychology of colonialism and imperialism. Deceit and deception along with exploitation in the shadow of justice and humanism is the ruling passion of colonialism. The "mission to civilize" is the illusion and maize which conceal the evil designs of imperialism. On the basis of his deep analysis and observation Iqbal had detected the real nature of this civil mission. So in this essay an effort is made to understand Iqbal's thoughts in the perspective of colonialism and post-colonialism.
