Abstract
The first half of the twentieth century is considered as a golden era of Urdu short stories. It was a beginning but the most renowned Urdu writers of the age contributed to it and presented the social and political scenario of subcontinent in their writings. They also discussed the problems relating to women and presented them as leading characters in their stories. So this article is a humble effort to discover the concept of women in the Urdu short stories of golden era.
