Abstract
There are only a few literary figures of Urdu who has been known as equally fertile in modern poetry and prose. Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi is one of them. He stands at the pinnacle of Urdu literature as a poet and short story writer. His move towards both genres was progressive throughout of his career. Besides of his writing another great contribution towards literature set up by Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi is Fanoon. This magazine is considered as a faction to endorse the progressive loom in literature. This article addresses the input of Fanoon towards Urdu Literature in historical perspective.
