Abstract
Marxism is a philosophy that defines the world based on concrete and solid grounds and the society lives in that world. It opposes the idealistic approach which presents a spiritual world and its life. Marxism from its beginning was a great deviation from all the political, economical and social philosophies that came before it. It conceptualizes that every society in fact progresses through the struggle between opposing forces and this struggle results in social transformation. This article tries to define and interpret the philosophy of Marxism shortly and then discusses the life and work of the very first literary figures of Urdu who adopted this philosophy in their political and social struggle and presented it in their writings.
