Abstract
Assadullah, Wajhi daccani was an urdu speaking persian poet . He was born in 1070 AH in the reign of ibrahim Qutub Shah (1080-988) AH in Golkanda. He was an eminent poet of subcontinent . He was called daccani because he belong to hyderabad daccan . His ancestors migrated to Hindustan from Iran ( Khurasan) He was awarded the title of 'King of the Poets' by 'Muhammad Quli Shah' in Qutab Shahi Dynasty (1687 -1518) . He was equally adept in writing prose and poemsó He was the writer of well-renouned books such as Qutab Mushtari and Sab Ras. He was closely acquainted with 'Quli Qutab'. He also wrote a Diwan-Farsi that consisted of poems, Stanzas and praises .
