Abstract

Majeed Amjid(1914-1974) is an eminent Urdu poet of 20th century, his multi dimensonal poetry distinguished him from the poets of his era. This article studies his poetry in the context of a social and econmic ideology of 21st century called CAPITALISM. This doctrine penetrates deep into the society since it is based on the  technoogical revolution and on the internalization of the market.Basically Majeed Amjid is a poet of aesthetic values of literature. He has not expressed his vision explicitly rather symbloically and metaphorically, this is why, some progressive writers criticize his approach towards socio- eonomic issues. This article deconstructs some of his selective poems to bring forward his views towards capitalism.
