Abstract
Shabnam Sahkeel is one of the preliminary poetesses who expressed the feminist approach in her poetry. She is among the few who understood the nature and true spirit of the 'Ghazal' and has employed that to her work with an amazing poetic skill. Shabnam raised her spontaneous voice reflecting a clear indication for eastern women in her poetry. 'Shabzad', 'Izterab' and 'Musafat raeygn thi' are her beautiful poetry collections. Being a daughter of an eminent intellectual and literary personality 'Syed Abid Ali Abid', Shabnam grew up in a literary environment. In her poetry she pointed out the social exploitation which every eastern woman faces in her everyday life from dawn to dusk. Shabnam wants to gain that status for women which are captured by patriarchal system.
