Abstract
Life is an amalgam of grief and happiness. Poetry is a story of life, that is why it is not only a narration of grief but the echo of joyous song can also be heard. In the world of research and criticism Urdu poetry in general and classical Urdu poetry in specific is analysed by joining it with tragedy. It is true that tragic concepts are found in Urdu poetry. However, we cannot deny the fact that the assets of Nishatia concepts are also found in classical poetry. Khawaja Haider Ali Aatish is called the representative of "Nishatia Aahang" in classical Urdu poetry alongwith Kalam-e-Aatish in Urdu poetry based on Nishatia manner of feeling can also be found with Mirza Ghalib poetry. The word "Nishat" is presented by Ghalib in his verses in a unique and impressive way. What we need to understand the poetic psyche of Ghalib. Through this paper the psychological meaning of "Nishatia Aahang" and "Nishatia Keifiat" can be well understood just by getting the psychological understanding of the word Nishat itself through the poetry of Ghalib.
