Abstract

Ikram-Ullah is included among renowned but somewhat neglected fiction writer of Urdu. His first Novel "Gurg-e-Shab" encircles a topic rebelling the current values of society which wasn't acceptable for the then government. However, This Novel was banned due to the description about human sexual psychology and some butter sentences and in future, its publication was banned. This article is to introduce this important psychological novel and indicates strong grip of the writer on the topic and its description. This condemned Novel of Urdu is not within the range of a common reader and this is the demand of the present era that this novel should be re-published.
