In this article, one of aspect of poetical craftsmanship emerging out the art of choosing words having phonetically resemblance or homo graphic effects giving birth to  'Sanat-e-Tajnees', has been discussed keeping in view of the poetry of Mir Taqi Mir. The writer has tried to establish the point that Mir had special longing for this  art of expression and play of words. Mir not only liked such Rhetoric but also considered it an essential part of great poetry. Tajnees is such a craft of words which has various types, forms or kinds. In this essay, all the prominent forms and kinds of Tajnees have been discussed and various examples have been given out of Mir's poetry. Though it is a dying art in our poetry but writer has tried to relive with this craft.
