Abstract
In this essay the efforts of German Orientalists for the flowering of Urdu Language and Literature have been analyzed. Although the great European brains seem influenced from Indian literature, philosophy, civilization and ancient thinking yet the German name stands significant in this list. The German had no practical relationship like the Portuguese, the Dutch, the French and the English but it is surprising to note that the first and second grammar books compilers. (John Joshaw Cattler and Benjamin Shultze) were German. The tradition of origentalism has traveled through these German Orientalists upto Dr. Cristina Oster and all these scholars using their head and heart are desparately trying to keep Urdu language and literature alive in foreign countries.
