Abstract
"Aabey Hayat" in Urdu fiction is considered to be a classic of Urdu literature and is still immensely popular. However it is considered to be weak in historical references which it invokes on a vast scale. The present research undertakes a study of its historical sources to evaluate the authenticity of references. The study discovers how numerous the references are - that is a significant factor in creating the impression that the references are not accurate, because they pose a challenge for the reader and analyst.
