Abstract

In this research article, the journalistic language of four Urdu News papers i.e. daily Jang, Nawa-e-waqt, Khabrain and Naya Akhbar of Multan city have been discussed / analyzed objectively and critically. Thus total no. of 3378 news items were analyzed in order to evaluate public / uncivilized and English worded based news items, of which total number of popular worded news items were 217, while English worded News items were 486. According to the findings of this research paper, the journalistic "Language of Niya Akhbar" was not up to the mark. Similarly, the journalistic language of Khabrain was up to the mark to some extent, as compared to Naya Akhbar. While on the other hand, the language used by Daily Jang Multan was better as compared to the rest of the Newspapers. In the last portion of the research article, valuable suggestions have been described.
