Abstract
This research deals with the life and scholarly works of Yousaf Bin Al-Jamal Al-Multani (died in 790 A.H.), who was a theologian and Arabic Scholar of the Tughloq era. Al-Multani was appointed a teacher of the Arabic and Islamic Studies at the Madrasa Feroz Shahi (A Royal Institute) in Dehli, by the Toughloq Sultan Feroz Shah. Al-Multani devoted himself to the cause of teaching and spent whole of his life in this duty. Tawjih-ul-Kalam and Al-Sharh-ul-Yousofi are two famous annotations written by him; the first one is about jurisprudence and the second is about Arabic Syntax. This study aims to evaluate his annotations (based upon the available commentories on the said works).
