Abstract
The present paper looks at the perceptions of Iqbal's work among Sindhi mystic poets by analyzing the common themes in their poetry. After documenting examples of influences of the teachings of the prophet Mohd, the Koran and Maulana Rumi, these have been traced back and linked with Iqbal's poetry. Owing to Iqbals active participation poetically and socially, in the Pakistan Movement, modern Sindhi poets have also imbibed this spirit. These include kishen chand, Haider Bakhsh Jatoi, Shiekh Ayaz whose work has been particularly cited here. Moreover the paper also throws a cursory glance at criticism on Iqbal.
