This paper points out the achievements of textual criticism of Baba-e-Urdu. Baba-e-Urdu Maulvi Abdul Haq was the first to set the trend of "textual criticism" in the research arena of Urdu Language and literature. He published ancient poetical and prose texts with "Muqadama", critical apparatus, references and Farhang. The importance of his edited texts does not only depend on the sequence of texts, but also lay in the process of their discovery which, in turn, has enriched the history of Urdu language and literature.
