Abstract

Raja Gidh is not only the masterpiece of Bano Qudsia but also the pride of Urdu fiction. The unique philosophy of "Rizq-e-Haram", the allegorical value of birds and ornamental style of writing made this novel worth reading. Bano fabricated its plot with the threads of philosophy, love and sex. The erotic aspect of this novel is a notable phenomenon which strengthens the story. These elements can be traced in Bano Qudsia's other novels like "Shehar-e-Lazawal Abad Veeranay" and "Hasil Ghat". This article throws light on sexual and erotic elements of Bano's thought provoking novels.
