Abstract

'Insan-Ay-Insan' is believed to be one of the finest and most important novels in the 21st century's Urdu literature. The subject of discussion in literature had always been the man and the life since its beginning and especially in fiction; countless books have been published on this subject so far. But this novel encompasses the theme of all virulent social realities of a man's life in the most eloquent way. It deals with man's life that is full of troubling, trembling, stifling and disturbing thoughts based on how the life goes on. The novelist has beautifully covered both micro and macro aspects of life; from an individual's personal experiences to life's universal experiences. He has brilliantly portrayed the transition of human behaviour from birth to death in this novel. This article highlights the novel's literary characteristics through a detailed discussion on its thematic and technical aspects.
