Abstract
The coterie of progressive authors celebrates women short story writers among whom Hajra Masroor is a notable contributor. In her writings, she exhibits the emotions of women uniquely. In her world of stories, woman is not a mythical image but enjoys a social reality. Woman is exploited as a mistress and becomes a symbol of a shackled society. This research article, in the perspective of progressive school of thought, analyzes the female characters in Hajra Masroor’s short stories.
