Urdu is not only prevalent in Balochistan as a language of communication, but also has a vast scholarly literature of the region. In Balochistan, written literature started in Urdu. Along with Urdu fiction in the subcontinent, fiction writing in the Urdu language had also started in Balochistan. In there was a significant increase after the formation of Pakistan. From the formation of Pakistan to the end of one unit, Urdu fiction had stood on its feet in the province. Dozens of fiction writers were presenting their works in various newspapers and magazines. Urdu fiction in Balochistan was started by those who were politically and journalistically active, so the fictional literature here seems to be connected with the political and social movement of the region from the beginning. It simultaneously carries a message of romanticism and social reform. In the paper under review, the same tradition and trends of Urdu fiction in Balochistan have been marked.
