Abstract

This research paper delves into the personality, philosophy of love, mysticism, and spiritual life of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi. The author first encountered Rumi through the works of Iqbal during her student years, which sparked a deep curiosity to understand the profound connection between Rumi and Shams Tabriz. Key events in Rumi’s life, especially his meeting with Shams, transformed him entirely. His philosophy reflects humanity, love, and inner purity. Rumi’s poetry, particularly in "Diwan-e-Shams Tabriz" and "Masnavi Ma'navi", expresses his journey of divine love and spiritual revelations. Rumi’s message is that true peace and comfort lie in love, humility, and sincerity. His ideas encompass the vastness of spirituality, mysticism, and love. He regards love as transcending intellect and believes in the purity of the soul. This paper also explores Rumi’s spiritual experiences and his principles of drawing closer to God through dance and music.
