Abstract

The fiction of Jilani Bano holds a distinctive place in Urdu literature, marked by a profound engagement with both social realities and human psychology. Her novels present an intricate exploration of inner conflict, feelings of deprivation, class oppression, and the psychological struggles of women. This study offers a psychological analysis of her selected novels, focusing on the inner behavior of characters, unconscious motivations, and the impact of societal pressures on individual identity. Her female characters, in particular, reflect emotional fragmentation, identity crises, and psychological exploitation, revealing the complexities of the human mind. By applying principles of psychological criticism, the study demonstrates that Jilani Bano is not only a sensitive novelist but also possesses a deep understanding of human psychology, which adds lasting significance to her literary work
