Abstract
This article is about the tradition of English translation of Urdu poetry. It has been traced that it was Mr. Henery Court who translated "Kuliyaat-e-Soda" is to English and published it from Shimla, India in 1872. It is the first known translation of classical Urdu Poetry. Then it was Iqbal who was translated in English. Then much of the progressive writers associated with modernism movement were translated into English. The scholar has mentioned 30 anthologies of the translations.
