History of Brahui Language (An Overview)

Abstract

Brahui language, along with Pakistan, is spoken in different countries like Iran, Afghanistan, and Gulf etc. Brahui is from the Dravidian group of the language. In Pakistan there are a number of indigenous languages that are not widely known especially the dialects spoken in the Northern and Hard areas that are under privilege. Brahui is one of the indigenous languages of Balochistan. Brahui belongs to the north-western group of the Dravidian Languages. It is apparently most closely related to the north eastern group of these languages which includes malto and Kurukh. Brahui is related more distantly to the Gandawana group, which includes Kul, Kuvl, Monda, Pengo, Konda, and Gondi. This research article presents an Overview of the history of Brahui language.
