Urdu literary criticism: Applied dimensions of postmodern theory

Abstract

The method of explanation interpretation and understanding of literary criticism does not adhere to any fixed and defined rules and regulations. Modern critical theories are a clear proof of this. This concept has also been proven by western critics with evidence; A holistic perspective is an essential component of literary study. For this, the mutual integration of different modern critical theories is important aspects of my PhD research thesis Titled ‘’Urdu Applied Criticism: An Analytical Study with Reference to Representative Indian and Pakistani Critics have been included in this Article, in which the tradition of Urdu applied criticism and the applied aspects of postmodern criticism are discussed. In which western critics on literary criticism. The views of western critics and their impact on Urdu critics and the intellectual enlightenment of thinkers and critics have been highlighted. it is noteworthy that Urdu literary criticism has moved towards a scientific and philosophical perspective, separate from the tradition of praise and admiration and in the light of various sciences, Romantic, psychological, socio. Marxist, structuralist, linguistic, modern and postmodern critical trends have been applied. they adopted the method of criticism and introduced a new paradigm of literary understanding. in the historical background of applied criticism, Dryden, Richards, Matthew Arnold, Eliot, Coleridge are notable thinkers, while in Urdu, Hali, Shibli, Imdad Amam Aser, Wahiduddin Salim, Mehdi Afaadi are notable. In modern and postmodern critical concepts, applied criticism has embarked on an evolutionary journey based on tradition. detailed light has been shed on this. The discussion on the basis of postmodernism and its multifaceted tendencies is worth considering, which has been examined in Urdu through important questions so that objectionable aspects can be clarified. opposition to and resistance to the diverse trends and ideologies of postmodernism are important topics of the contemporary era . these aspects are discussed in this article.
