Abstract

Progressive Writers Association is the Prominent Literary Movement of 20th. Centaury, Started in 1936 by the group of anti-imperialist & left oriented Writers who wants to change through their writings advocating equality among all humans and attacking social injustice and backwardness in the society. This is the only literary movement in the sub continent who take the initiate to produce the literature for the people of grass route level and raise the vice against the imperialism for their economic justice in their writings. In Urdu Literature this is the strongest movement after Sir Syed education movement, the progressive writers contributed to Urdu literature a lot of finest pieces of fiction and poetry. Undoubtedly, Progressive Writers Movement is the trend setter for the upcoming generation of writers to change the society through the literature. This article is research base discovery and critical analyses of the Progressive Writers Association history where tried to express the main point that why the existence of progressive writers movement needed for our society
