Our society has double standards regarding men and women's goodness, morality and character. Literature and especially in fiction the female characters are usually analyzed from these double standards. Thus even the feministic critics have been unable to free themselves from the grip of these double standards. The main female character of Mumtaz Mufti's famosu novel "Alipur ka Alie", Shahzad, has also been judged from this prospective. This study is an attempt to undrstand "Shahzad" from being a human being instead of simply as a morally currupt, fake and hollow women.
