This research article deals with some of the assumptions in Urdu literary canon that Hali and his contemporaries were nationalists. This article especially talks about Hali's Poetry. The claim of the article that Hali was not a national poet and he was working on the agenda of empire has been addressed with proper examples and deconstruction of Hali poetry. The article gives an opposite point of view that we have earlier about Hali poetry.
