The present study deals with the 18th century colonial outlook towards Indian sub-Continent, with special reference to Voltaire's writings, particularly his unknown work called Fragments Sur. I'Inde-Fragments of India. Beginning with historical background of Indian trade, it gives the first troubles of India and enmities between the French and English East India companies. Analyzing the Hindu and Brahmans, an attempt is made to unfold the warriors of India and regent revolutions, with a fair description of the western coast. With the defeat of French, the question is raised whether England will dominate India, it is concluded that everything changes on this earth.
